I grew up in the city of Guangzhou, China. I received my Bachelor degree from Sun Yet-sen University, Guangzhou, China in 2009.

After I graduated, I stayed in SYSU for half a year as a research assistant of the School of Information Science and Technology, focused on simulating the propagation of electromagnetic waves using FDTD method.

In September 2010, I became a M.Eng student of the University of Toronto and joined Prof. Hoi-Kwong Lo's research group. Currently, my research interests are quantum random number generator and all aspects of quantum information. I am graduating in the summer of 2011 after I finish my project on high speed quantum random number generation based on measuring phase noise of a single mode laser, a topic which has been studied deeply by Prof. Hoi-Kwong Lo, Dr. Bing Qi and Feihu Xu.
