Setting Up ECE email forwarding

Preparation

We have web interface for setting up email forwarding in ECE departmental email server. The service is protected by ECE firewall, so if you are not from Tier-1 or Tier-2 ECE machines, you have to connect to ECE VPN server or UofT VPN server to access the web pages.

1. If you are from Tier-1 or Tier-2 ECE machines, go to Step 2, otherwise, Connect to ECE VPN server or UofT VPN server first.

2. Click HERE to access the web interface

3. Input your username and password. It is not a good idea to enable "Remember login permanently"

4. Expand Mail in the left pannel , select "Procmail Mail Filter "

5. If you have already had some filtering rules, click the Add button (the up and down arrow button) in the end of your first rule, Otherwise Click :"Add a new filter action".

5. In the popup menu, Choose "Forward to address"

6. In the next input bar, input the email address you want your email to be forwarded to.

7. To keep a local copy of the incoming emails in mail.ece.utoronto.ca, enable "Continuprocessing even if conditions match ". It is better that you enable this option

8. CLick "Create" to save the configuration

Please always test by sending yourself an email to make sure the new configuration work.
