WCL: 1. [acronym] Wireless Computing Lab 2. [nested acronym] WHIMSIC Lab: Wireless Heterogeneous Internetworked Mobile and Sensor Information Computing Laboratory We are located in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. We are part of the Communications Group. We conduct research into theories, algorithms, and protocols for communication networks and mobile computing. Our purpose is to contribute toward the convergence of wireless, broadband, and distributed system technologies, so as to enable ubiquitous access to multimedia information and remote computing services regardless of location or mobility. Our recent research topics include ad hoc and sensor networks, mobility and resource management, multimedia networking, heterogeneous network integration, information assurance, and cooperative communications.
