I am currently studying in the second year
of my PhD program at the
University of Toronto, in the field of wireless
communication and wireless networks under supervision of
Dr. Ben Liang, an accomplished researcher in the area of wireless
networks. I completed my master program in Electrical and
Computer Engineering at the
University of Alberta
under the supervision of
Dr. Chintha Tellambura in August 2007, Edmonton, Canada.
In September 2005, I received my Bachelor degrees in
Electrical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering both from
Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran.
Beside my study and academic life, I have been involved in
quite a few extracurricular
activities; namely,
(1) I am serving as the Sergeant at Arms at
the University of
Toronto Engineering Toastmaster Club (UTETC),
(2) I am a member of Engineers Without Borders (EWB)
group [Branch of U of T]
(3) I am a distinguished member of U of Toronto table tennis club
(UTTTC)
(4) I'm part of Mechatronic Design Association (MDA) at the U of Toronto
since Dec. 2007. Our goal is to design an autonomous submarine and take part in the international competition held in
San Diego (AUVSI) .
Furthermore, I have been affiliated
with the following robotic teams and projects;
(1)CEDRA Rescue Robot
team at Sharif University of Technology
(2)Autonomous Robot Vehicle project (ARVP) at the University of Alberta
My honors and awards in Table Tennis are listed as follow:
Placed first among all
Iranian junior students, 1998. Ranked in top five junior players
in the country to make the national team back to 1999.
Achieving tow silver medals in the national
universities' tournaments 2003, 2004, successively .
Ranked in top three players in the province of Alberta, and twice
champion of
cooperate challenge tournaments April 2006 and 2007.
