Mahdi HajiAghayi

 I am currently in the last year of my PhD program at the University of Toronto in the field of communication systems and wireless networks under the joint supervision of Prof. Ben Liang and Prof. Min Dong. I completed my master program in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, under the supervision of Prof. Chintha Tellambura  in August 2007. In September 2005, I  received my Bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering both from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran.

My research interests include: Network optimization, non-convex optimization, operation research and assignment problems, Resource management in cooperative OFDM and MIMO network, Cross layer design and Lifetime maximization in cooperative and sensor network.

Beside my study, I have been involved in quite a few extracurricular activities; namely,

I love watching and playing sports. Particularly table tennis! My honors and awards in table tennis are listed as follow: Placed first among all Iranian junior students, 1998. Ranked in top five junior players in the country and being in the national team, 1999. Received silver medals in the nationwide universities' tournaments 2003, 2004, successively. Ranked among the top three players in the province of Alberta, and twice champion of cooperate challenge tournaments in April 2006 and 2007.
