Sarah Ali M.A.Sc. Candidate, University of Toronto
Welcome to my homepage.
I am a first year M.A.Sc student in the Communications Group, in the University of Toronto's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I graduated from the University of Toronto's Engineering Science program (Electrical Option, with Honours) in 2005.
My main research focus is in the area of audio signal processing. Currently, I'm working on developing novel interfaces for Internet Music Search. I presented some of this work this summer at ICME 2006.
I currently hold a NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS-M).
I first joined the Artificial Perception Laboratory as an undergraduate thesis student in 2004. My undergraduate thesis project was entitled "Perceptual Audio Data Hiding for Data Transmission".
I also spent a Professional Experience Year (16 month Internship) at MDA Space Missions (formerly MD Robotics) working in Systems Engineering on the International Space Station program. Some of the projects I worked on include testing of this robot and the groundwork for controlling Canadarm2 from the ground.
