\"CPI<\/a><\/p>\n

The ECE Department<\/a> and Centre for Power and Information<\/a> (CPI) at the University of Toronto are hosting a\u00a0CPI Research Showcase<\/b>\u00a0on\u00a0April 18, 2016<\/b><\/a>\u00a0in the Sanford Fleming Building (10 King\u2019s College Road), Room 1105.The Showcase plans to be an interesting, stress-free and fun-filled day, with talks, demos and posters. Refreshments and lunch will be served.<\/p>\n

One main objective of the event is to bring together people from the broad University community as well as local industry to open a\u00a0dialogue on topics related to \u201csmart infrastructure\u201d and energy systems.\u00a0We hope that this showcase helps to both inspire existing work and encourage future opportunities.<\/p>\n

Speakers include<\/span>:
\nProfessor Ben Liang<\/strong> on Stochastic Optimization of Renewable Integrated Power\u00a0Grids
\nProfessor Josh Taylo<\/strong>r on Representing Storage and Demand Response in Power\u00a0System Operations
\nProfessor Steve Mann<\/strong> on Grasping Gravitational Waves with the Gravlet Transform:\u00a0Unlocking the Secrets of Nature with the SWIM (Sequential\u00a0Wave Imprinting Machine)
\nProfessor Zeb Tate<\/strong> on Sustainability and the Smart Grid
\nProfessor Deepa Kundur<\/strong> on Cyber-Physical Security of Energy Infrastructure<\/p>\n

Demos include<\/span>:
\nEV Power Train Demo by Professor Peter Lehn<\/strong>
\nSWIM Demo by Professor Steve Mann<\/strong><\/p>\n

There will also be Research Posters from several research groups.<\/p>\n
