We are pleased to announce the following Panel
The Many Homes of Contemporary Video
Synopsis:
Contemporary video applications have progressed
well beyond traditional streaming and encompass diverse disciplines such as
information theory, signal processing, machine learning, and computer science.
In this panel, experts working in some of these areas will share their vision
and research results. Some topics to be addressed include 1) Performance
metrics for assessing video quality 2) Advanced video delivery mechanisms
(Caching and Storage techniques, FEC, Scalable Video Codecs etc.) and 3) Future
trends in video research. Ultimately we expect all participants to encounter
several stimulating question for further research in this area.
Confirmed Panelists:
Prof. Yao Wang, (NYU)
Dr. Shantanu Rane (MERL)
Prof. Sheila Hemami (Northeastern University, USA)
Prof. Jorg Liebherr (Univ. of Toronto)
