About Me

I am presently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Vector Institute, working with Prof. Daniel Roy. I finished my Ph.D. at the University of Toronto where I was very fortunate to be advised by Prof. Ben Liang and Prof. Min Dong.  

My Ph.D. research was focused on developing theory and practices for next generation large-scale distributed and heterogeneous networks. I work in the area of machine learning. In particular, I am developing communication-efficient variants of stochastic gradient descent to train very large and complex models with large datasets in a distributed manner.
